Use cases

Where a wallet pays for itself.

Any business with a base of people who need to hold, move or be paid money. These are written as the situation you already have rather than as a list of features, and the four that come up most often have a page of their own.

Every scenario is built from the same four movements. Your customers top up, pay, transfer and withdraw, and you see what is held, what is due and what has settled.

Segment 01

Retail, hospitality and loyalty.

Value that leaves your business after every step is value you have to win back. A balance held with you is a reason to come back, and refunds and rewards land where they can be spent again.

Retail and store credit

A refund into the wallet is available for the next purchase instead of gone for several days, and credits, rewards and store credit sit in one balance.

Hospitality and hotels

A guest tops up at check-in and spends across the restaurant, the spa and the bar without a card at each till. What is unspent is still theirs at checkout.

Rewards and partners

You run a rewards programme with partner venues, and a reward is only worth something if it can be spent somewhere real. The reward is transferred into the member's wallet, and the member pays with it at any venue in the programme. One payment can be divided between the venue and you as it is made.

Travel and airlines

A traveller books a trip and then changes it, and the difference usually goes back to a card and out of your business. Put it in the wallet instead, where it stays available for the next booking. Seats, bags and lounge access are paid from the same balance.

Segment 02

Platforms and marketplaces.

One payment arrives and several parties are owed out of it. Divide it as it is made, so the week does not end with a reconciliation.

Marketplaces

A buyer pays once, and you owe the seller, the platform and sometimes a delivery partner out of that single amount. The payment is divided between them as it is made.

Franchise and business-to-business networks

Outlets order stock from you, and every order today is another bank transfer to match against an invoice. An outlet holds a working balance in a business wallet and pays from it. You see what each one holds, what is promised to someone else and what you can use now.

Property

Rent, deposits and levies arrive from many people and go out to owners, agents and contractors. Collect into a wallet, hold what is promised to each party, then release it when it is due. A deposit sits as a balance you can point to rather than a line on a statement.

Segment 03

Workforce and gig.

People want their money before the next payroll run, and small amounts are the expensive ones to move. Pay into a wallet they already have, then let them decide what happens next. Withdrawals are manually reviewed and typically processed within 1 to 3 business days.

Allowances, reimbursements and incentives are small amounts that cost a lot to run through payroll. They are transferred into the person's wallet with a reference on each one. A driver or contractor finishing a shift is paid as the work is completed rather than at the end of the month, and from there they spend the balance with you, move it to their own bank account, or draw it as cash at an ATM with a PIN sent by SMS.

Segment 04

Education, charities and events.

Money is collected from many people at once and owed onward to several parties. Hold what is promised to each of them, and release it when it is due.

Education

Fees, deposits, meal money and printing credit arrive separately today and are chased separately. A student holds one balance and pays from it across the campus. A parent tops it up from anywhere and can see what is left.

Charities and events

You collect from many people at once and owe parts of it onward to a cause, a venue or a supplier. Each payment is divided as it is made, and what is due to each party is held until you release it. Attendees top up before the gate and pay at every stall without carrying cash.

Questions

What people ask before they start.

Do our customers need another app?

No. The wallet opens from inside your own application, and your customers sign in where they already sign in.

Can money leave the wallet?

Yes. To a bank account, or as cash at an ATM with a PIN sent by SMS. A person checks every withdrawal before it is released, and withdrawals are manually reviewed and typically processed within 1 to 3 business days.

Can a refund go back into the wallet instead of to a card?

Yes. Full, partial and bulk refunds go back to the wallet, where the money can be spent with you again.

Which of these do we have to pick?

None of them. Each one is built from the same four movements, so the wallet does not change shape between them. Tell us what your product already does and we will scope it from there.

Tell us where your money moves.

Describe the flow you have today and we will walk it through the four movements with you.
